How Can I Use It?
That question would be better asked as "How should I use it?" because Usenet can be used (and abused) in many different ways. There are some helpful guidelines and information widely available for the following types of Usenet users. (If these don't apply to you, but you need more information, then you can try searching the collections of Usenet links listed above.)
New Usenet Users
If you are new to the Usenet, please take some time to familiarize yourself with Usenet standards and policies. This information is freely available on the Internet. A good starting point would be Usenet Help, part of the very useful Usenet Info Center Launch Pad. Another source of answers for new Usenet users is news.newusers.questions.
Commercial Users
If you are advertising a service or product or your posts are commercial in nature, then you should read the following FAQs about commercial use of the Usenet before posting:
For some information about what constitutes Usenet abuse and the consequences of abuse, read The Net Abuse FAQ and The SPAM FAQ. And finally, everyone should read Dear Emily Postnews, a witty satire of Usenet etiquette.

Public access Usenet sites come and go, so you may find one that works today only to find that is inaccessible tomorrow. If this happens, go back to the sites listed above and find another one.
Commercial Usenet Sites
Please use our Usenet Service Provider list to find a commercial service that suits your needs.
You should also be able to find a commercial site that suits your needs at the Yahoo Commercial Usenet Site Links.
